Jury Duty
5 am on Tuesday
why am I up so early
drive out to Santa Ana
'cause I've got jury duty
no breakfast
short tempered
and I cut my head shaving
ten miles out
I hit traffic
some days just
aren't worth saving
You know I haven't
had the best of days
But I want to stop
and thank You anyway
At the courthouse
I waited
And waited
then I waited
At lunchtime
my car stalled out
I couldn't get it started
Had a book by C.S. Lewis
I finished the last page and
Slept on my desk for three hours
Just like my high school days
Cuz every single moment
whether sleeping or awake
Is your creation
And what you've
made is good
I don't always thank you
for the rough days and
the hard times in my life
Even though I should
Got home and decided
I'd be in a bad mood
My shy and quiet wife said
she didn't like my attitude
Got a call from my mother
Forgot my sister's birthday
I'm a lousy older brother
safe to say I've had a bad day

Escape from
Reason
Down Down Down
That's the way
we're traveling
Our social fabric unravels
But who pulled the string
Philosophers politicians
or the school teachers
Game of life and death
and we're sitting on the bleachers
What happened
to our voice
What happened
to our influence
Tell me who will listen
to uneducated congregants
And why should they
when all we have to say is
Bumper sticker doctrine
and cute catch phrases
Does this amaze us that
no one will take us seriously
We talk big but
then we sit in atrophy
Apathy they make comedy
of our hypocrisy
Unaware of true
biblical philosophy
So we gotta watch
what we do and
what they see
Cause we represent
Christ plus Christianity
The underground sound
here to take your mind higher
I pound the ground
Burn it down life fire
We walk the long path,
Still on the first half
You escape reason,
we escape wrath
God is not concerned
with Gallup Poll opinion
Or if the whole human race
were to disagree with Him
Truth is what I spit
But you ain't hearing it
Or you ain't having it
But it don't matter which
'Cause God is still himself
and He could strike us dead
Even in the pink of health
You don't think I should say that
You say you don't believe that
Our opinion counts for zero,
And that is simply that,
Like I'm Mojo
that's how it goes
that's just the
way of things
God is not impressed
disagreeing won't change anything,
We all must beg for mercy
and surely God'll show it
There's a reason for our hope
you ask me how I know it
God said it
and that's without a doubt
"He who comes to me
I will in no way cast out"
A city under siege
who will you believe
champions of truth
or of apostasy
you wanna take on me
you take on Elohim
He controls all that
was is and what will be

What It Comes To
Every now and then
I have a moment of
authentication
Reveals the man inside me
like illumination
Trial by fire purification
The day I die
is the day that it's done
You might not realize
when it comes
And only overcome it
by the grace of the Son
Just try to stand your ground
take it head on
Every moment in my life
comes down to this one
At a fork in the road
only two ways to go
The one unbetrayed
and the one that you know
The broad and the wrong
or the tight and the right
So die in the dim
or fight in the light
So it comes down to this
Jesus Christ was
betrayed by a kiss
Judas when he faced
his moment he failed
Imprisoned in hell
with a bail of three nails

This is what it comes to
It's me against
my desires and inclinations
Pass through the
fire into salvation
Bring water to the thirsty
like irrigation
When you go toe to toe
you don't go one on one
But Christ in my
place in substitution
Showed me His grace propitiation
Heard the devil laugh
and he thought he had won
But then came the
comeback and resurrection
Listen everybody
may I please have
your attention
Only the wise
will accept instruction
Fools laugh at knowledge
and reject wisdom
Inevitably leading
to destruction
now it's on you
it's your decision
the forecast of the
future is confrontation
the beast
or the king
like revelation
a battle for your soul
like Armageddon

Lift Me Up
Lord, My God,
in the morning
Show me how I can
serve you today
Lord, My God,
in the evening
Let my song rise up to you
I know that you are holy,
I know that I'm unclean
And I'm afraid to
come into your presence.
I know that I'm unworthy,
To call upon your name
From all the way down here
So I say
Lift me up
From my lowly estate
Lift me up
Where I can see you clothed
in Majesty and Light
If you'd saved even one man
Surely this is undeserved
But the saints by your mercy
Stand with you uncountable
Is this not amazing
Isn't your name grace
Aren't you the
sovereign God of justice
Haven't we offended
Did we not crucify
Guess that we can only wonder why

Return of the Revolution
There ain't no stopping us now
I'd like to say
that from the outset
Not up in this business
just to get what we can get
But bet that
We gonna bring it to
you loud and clear
How loud I gotta say it
'fore you people start to hear
I can name our problems
But I know a solution
Bring back the revolution.
The revolution comes
and we all stand as one
Rises from the darkness
and shines like the sun
As the sun gets higher,
our church catches fire
Down from our pride
and up from the mire.
It's a dream that
I've had I hope
it comes true
I forgot to say the
revolution starts with you.
See wisdom and knowledge
is one thing that we lack
You've been a Christian
how long and you're
still on Similac
So I call on Martin Luther
and all the reformation back
Then the common people
couldn't read God's revelation
You had to be a monk
or a priest or read Latin
That was all before
the revolution happened
But the fire cooled down ever
since that generation
We put down the Bible
and pick up the play station
And we can't defend our faith
'cause we don't even know it
We say we love His word
but pick a funny way to show it.
The world walks by and
we don't have a thing to say
I call 'em as I see 'em
And that's what I see today
The revolution returns
The reformation lives on
The great awakening is now
Sleepers open your eyes
A war is on,
our rally cry is no compromise
No compromise, yeah,
no compromise
A war is on,
our battle cry is no compromise
so throw your fist up
and pray the revolution rise
A war is on,
our rally cry is no compromise
Our hearts have grown so cold
And we've such numb souls
But shirts and bumper stickers
Man we got 'em by the truckload
Is true religion
what you have around your wrist
What does the scripture say of this
They honor me with words
But their hearts are far away
I call 'em like I see 'em
And that's what I see today
So I call on John Edways
Who preached us all awake
We try to be emotional
but here is our mistake
As a church we lack repentance
and we lack true affection
Not only in our minds
but our hearts need correction
And man that's true religion,
resignation and contrition
To love each other so much
that we'd die before division
So what about you
Will you join us
Will you admit that
the waters around us
have grown
You better start swimming
or you'll sink like a stone
Do you stand with us
or do we stand alone
It's time that we stand up,
enlist for the war
I've tasted battle
and now I want more
I've known the truth
and been cut to the core
But I'm back in the
game to even the score
And I mean to go out
with both my guns blazing
Amazed at a God who's
so truly amazing
To triumph in battle
as the Spirit enables
Can't turn back the clock
but we can turn the tables

Wilderness
The rain falls on the
righteous and the wicked
Mine is not to
reason why this is
In this I rest in
this I find my refuge
That my thoughts
and ways are not His
I spend my life on
looking up the answers
It’s rare that I
can’t find a reason why
But reasons fail
at children without mothers
His plan is more
than I can know
Have you ever held in doubt
What this life is all about
Have you questioned
all these things that seem
Important to us
Do you really wanna know
Or are you a little scared
You’re afraid that God
is not really exactly
what you’d have Him be
What should I hold to
and what should I do
How do I know if
anything’s true
I’m somewhere in-between
Canaan and Egypt
A place called
the wilderness
I’m not one who always
trusts their feelings
I don’t believe in what
you’d call blind faith
But faith that you can
do all that you promised
And you said it
all works for good
It’s safe to say
I don’t see the big picture
I can’t see the
forest for the trees
And if five hundred lives
Were mine to get to know
You all could be
spent on just this
God do you really understand
what it’s like to be a man
Have You ever felt
the weight of loving all the
things you Hate
Have You struggled
have you worried
How can You sympathize
I have spoken too soon
put my hand over my mouth
I can’t contend with You
Your ways are so much higher
And we pass through
the fire that
Christ endured before us
When You were in the wilderness

Father's World
The only way I know
is just to rip it
OC West Coast never
comin’ with a slick hit
Everything is low-fi
the music makes me so high
Comin’ from my heart
just like I first
came out of Long I
As the seconds go by
allow me just to speak my
Thoughts on so many topics
all pertaining to the most high
As the music rocks on
just let me get my rock on
The preacher gets his
talk on we all get our walk on
The whole thing is just
lovely so beautiful
it’s ugly
Gather like a rally
put it down for southern Cali
this is my Father’s world
whoa let me ne’er forget
that though the wrong
seems so strong
He is the ruler yet
The Supertones
rock your world
Supertones rock your car
We got mad plans
like Hannibal or
just George Peppard
That’s a reference
to the A-Team
The dream team
with the sure shot
If you will allow us
we’ll break you out
like Murdock
Rockin’ is my occupation
I could blow for longer
than the birth of a nation
If there’s ever been
a question of my dedication
Tremble now before
the power of my vibration
Let me keep this very
simple every soul is a temple
Who gets the glory
there the prince of the air
Or maybe your career
Whom is it that you
fear not fear like a gun
but like the heat
of the sun
If you fear God
then you’re wise keep
your eyes on the prize
Learn to tell the truth
from lies live with
no compromise
I like the sound of
that now keep yourself
on track
Against the tide like Luther
and we’ll never take it back
In this world there will
be trouble
And there will be trials
but don’t give up the struggle
‘cause it's only for a while

the laugh of Mephistopheles
‘Cause once you start
it’s so very hard to cease
to say the least it’s hard
enough to keep it from increase
That’s the box you
can never close it
once it’s open
You can’t contain
what’s inside once
the seal is broken.
Who knocked the locks
off of Pandora’s box
Praise apostate while
they mock the orthodox
The box was opened
first by Adam and Eve
Forbidden fruit tasted
and planted the seed
Grew up into hatred,
lust and greed
The pain of Cain
and his devious deed
It permeates society
circling like a vulture
The lid’s flung wide
and we call it our culture
That’s the box you can
never close it once
it’s open
You can’t contain
what’s inside
once the seal is broken

Refuge
moment with me.
Let the lights and smoke all fade away.
And there’s nothing
left but Jesus,
And no one left but you.
Where will you
go from here?
Welcome to the end
of time well spent.
I hope the words I’m singin’
Find you well.
But, don’t miss the message.
There’s no greater truth.
Take refuge
in His heart.

Forward to the Future
It all went by so fast
I’m always looking back
On some golden day
But nothing gold can stay
Older yes and wiser some
I am what I have become
But am I becoming
what I want to be
And as we go on
with the rest of our lives,
Don’t forget from where you came
Look forward to the future
What you wanna be
Look forward to the future
Grace, integrity
Look forward to the future
The things you want to do
Look forward to the future
Faith and honesty
Wistful as a wish
I sit and reminisce
On people that I knew
And old friends that I miss
Older, yes and wiser some
Looking at how far I’ve come
But is where I’m going
where I want to be

Another Show
I love the way this feels
To tell the truth real
The music hits your head and chest
And now you know the deal
Given the dream
when I turned nineteen
And the last four years
we’ve been flowing like a stream
Four years on tour we’ve been playing to whoever
The six of us together headed out to wherever
Four years older, twenty three wiser
Still not tired of going off like geyser
We ain’t everything that we’re cracked up to be
Down with the king like Jay and Run DMC
Step on the stage, move the groove steadily
Keep our head on and splurge the world readily
Another night, another show
My whole souls fired up and ready to go
No wait, don’t turn away
There’s something I must say
If God’s not glorified
We shouldn’t be here today
‘Cause if we ain’t speaking Christ
We ain’t speaking nothing
Look into my eyes and
You tell me if I’m bluffing
From here on out we’re going all out light it up with no doubt
Evangelize and edify that’s what we’re all about
Don’t know what God has in store
But that’s the way we’re headed
With the pedal to the floor

I felt so introspective tonight
Thinkin’ ahead about my final hindsight
Did I make every moment count
How much did I sit about
Doin’ not the good I know to do
What will I say when I’m faced with His glory the saints
And the angels as I tell my story
Will the works I’ve accomplished be worthy of Heaven
What will I think lookin’ back
What was gold what was dross
What was gain what was loss
What will stand what was fleeting
And what will I change while my hearts still beating
20/20
So many thoughts fill up my mind
Look inside the world and I can’t find
The promise of another day
Or how much longer I will stay
No one really knows how long they have

Who Could It Be?
Let me introduce you to somebody that I know
I first met Him, oh, I’d say about nine years ago
But He knew me before the day that I was born
He planned my life when the world was void of form
He chose to save my soul before earth’s foundations
Reigns from heaven as we speak and rules over the nations
The one and only God-man at the Father’s right hand
The height and length and depth tell me if you understand
The one and only undefeated champion
The only one who did what can’t be done
The only one who can insure saints’ persistence
Who swallowed up death in His infinite existence
Omnipotent infinite blood sufficient for what ails ya
Makes scores of saints sing praises like Mahalia
Vital signs were flat lined in the earth three days time then
He rose again and ascended like sunshine
Who could it be who could it be the person of the Trinity
Between one and three J-e-s-u-s C-h-r-i-s-t
feared on every continent banned by your governments
raise your voice against Him and reveal your own
incompetence
many people hate Him many people love Him
many far below Him but you know there’s none above Him
now there is an issue where I must turn my attention
it seems that people wish to serve a Christ of their invention
true God true man otherwise you’re anathema
unsaved hell bound with a hellhound after ya
Deftly one in three existing from eternity
Humiliated lacerated now reigning in glory
The comeback king of all time
No matter how dark it gets the truth shines
‘cause in the heart of every man lies the knowledge of Him
displayed in creation but surpassed in sin

still disagree you best check your Theology

Spend It With You
Had an old friend call me up this morning
Telling me about how he had changed
His life’s not the same
Warning me about a place
So far away from heaven’s grace
And how life is no simple game
I thought about it, laughed out loud
Only fools would dare reject it
I decided to just accept it
I thought about it and I sang this song
Thought about the day when
I’d be singing to you all day long
‘Cause I wanna spend it with you
I wanna live in the service of heaven
I wanna spend it with you
From eternity to forever
Got another call from a friend this morning
Telling me I didn’t have to wait
‘Til I walked through the gates
That heaven’s with me everyday
And every step along the way
I take with me takes
I thought about it, laughed out loud
How much better could this get
I’ve barely even started yet
I thought about it and I smiled so wide
Now I can spend everyday walking close to Jesus’ side
‘Cause I wanna spend it with you
I wanna wake up and say good morning
I wanna spend it with you
I wanna know in your heart that you’re with me
Called up my old friend this morning
Telling him about how I had changed
My life’s just not the same
Warning him about a place
So far away from Heaven’s grace
And how life is no simple game
He thought about it, he laughed out loud
Only fools would dare reject it
He decided to accept it
He thought about it and said that he
Only wished I didn’t wait
To call him up and tell him this
‘Cause I wanna spend it with you
I wanna walk streets of gold together
I wanna spend it with you
From eternity to forever

One Voice
1999 and the stakes is high
Our options have come down
to either what we do or we die.
We need You now more than ever.
Pull out all of the strife in the church,
get us together
Is time running out?
I can't say I do know.
We have one day less
than we did yesterday
So it's up to us to unite,
You wanna fight the power?
You need the power to fight.
And can we sing with one voice,
if we all love the same God?
Can we agree to disagree?
And so we cry with one voice
to the only God in all the universe-
Who holds us in His hands.
No more time
For us to bicker and complain,
If we're called by the same name,
There's nowhere for us to lay the blame,
except for ourselves.
And if we died to our old selves
To come alive as God's flesh,
That makes us family.
Deeper than death,
But we don't act so tight
When there's a back to bite
Are we less like a family, and
more like a fistfight?
Are we there, but not quite
are hypocrites children of light?

In Between
Please allow me to introduce me.
Half of me slave, the other half free.
Righteous and sinful,
both at the same time.
Iniquity and purity
fill up the same mind.
And out of the same mouth,
the holy and the profane.
I curse all my brothers,
then I bless Christ's name.
I hang in the balance,
but still I'm secure.
I'm leaning towards evil,
but striving to be pure.
I stand between the saint and the
sinner, chasing after holiness, close
enough to grasp, but still it's just
beyond my reach.
Who I am is in between,
what I wanna be and what I am.
Pulling from both sides,
himility and pride.
One seeks to give,
the other to be gratified.
In any case, however,
I know I'm in need.
Two appetites in me,
which one do I feed?
Running fast as I can
After elusive perfection.
No I'm not there yet,
but sure I'm in the right direction.
Cuz I see me at the end
and I look glorified.
Justified safe inside,
so I seek to be sanctified.

Away From You
Say, you got a minute friend?
Because I'd like to tell you something.
You may think nothing of it,
but wait...you're gonna love it.
What if I told you I held
the one true philosophy?
Would you hear me out
or just turn your back
and laugh at me?
Lord, I just don't understand
this strange creature You call man.
Who thinks he lives by his own
hand, but I know,
There's no life away from You.
So I will remains still and silent,
for fear of the words I might say.
And am I still in my defiance,
When I'm trying so hard to obey?

Dedication
Side by side,
Driving the same highway.
Leaving behind everything
And everyone you love.
The cost to pay,
To tell the world of Jesus.
Hoping that these bridges burned
Will not be just in vain.
It helps to think that somewhere
You’re feeling just the same.
And don’t take even
A moment for granted.
Don’t lose heart
When the world crashes down.
How many miles ahead?
I can’t count the ones behind.
To all the friends that we’ve collected,
All the people we respect.
For the hope and joy
That comes with you.
We made this up and wrote it down
And dedicate this song to you.
No turning back,
And can’t say that I regret it.
When ever day,
God’s promises testify themselves.
Sometimes it’s hard,
And the road keeps stretching longer.
Tonight my wife’s a longing voice
On a Holiday Inn phone.
How many miles ahead?
I can’t count the ones behind.
I wish you God’s speed, friend.
You’re always on my mind.
Will you remember me, say,
Seven years from now?
And where will we be then?
Well, I’m here for you now.

And we’ll televise

What will save you
From divine retribution?
Do our part, try to

Think long and hard
About our world today...
What needs to be said,
And what I need to say.
We’re a tower of Babel
Built on anti-philosophy,
Nietzche in the west
And krishna in the east.
War rages on
through generations.
All of these christians
Abandoned their stations.
A whole world around us,
That we’ve ceased to reach
An army of soldiers,
We’ve neglected to teach.
But, it’s dim and not pitch black.
The truth will prevail.
If our God is for us,
how can we fail?
No surer hope has
ever been rested.
But for our adversary’s worthy,
Prepare to be tested.
Hoo, Hah.
How will you stand
If you don’t understand?
Hoo, Hah.
Fight like a man, scriptures in hand.
And here we stand...naked, barehanded.
Futily prepared,
For the blows to be landed.
Presuppositions is all you can stand.
Can you twist their wrist
When they lay a hand on?
Learn how to fight
From words on a paper.
Learn from the shoguns,
Bahnsen and Schaeffer.
Invincible army,
Hold Spirit our general.
Weapons are formed
From most precious of minerals.
Kids in universities,
Drowning in an ocean
Of apostate philosophy.
We need apologetic instruction...
Mental reconstruction.
Ignorance reduction,
To halt the mass abduction.
Evangelical mind
Has been scandalized.
Wisdom and truth
Have been vandalized,
By the unevangelized.
No truth in a world
That is randomized.
Expose the lies
No matter how they’re disguised.

Sure Shot
I wanna do the right thing.
I wanna be the sure shot.
I wanna have my mind straight.
I wanna have my point got.
I wanna be a good man.
I wanna have my act down.
I wanna be the future.
And I wanna be right now.
Sometime I feel
Like I can change the world.
But I don’t know where to start.
I dig and come up empty,
Clutching an empty heart.
I wanna see a life change.
I wanna see a new man.
I wanna fight the good fight.
I wanna take the right stand.
I wanna be like Jesus.
I wanna pour my heart out.
I wanna pick my cross up.
I wanna hear the mob shout.
I'm wide awake
And thinking about the cross,
The Trinity apart.
I dig and come up empty,
Clutching a sacred heart

What do I know?
Somebody tell me.
I’ve been running from

Please help me Lord.
Find my direction.

How can You love me?

far from your own.
Why choose me Lord?
I’m a poor reflection.
Why use me to make

Chase the Sun
Welcome to the epicenter,
Where we got spring and summer,
But we skip the winter.
Feel free to enter
The zone of the Supertones,
Where late into the night we just
Rock the microphone.
We lived inside the fault lines
Beneath the earth’s surface.
Spendin’ all our time
Readin’ books and writin’ verses.
The earth started shakin’
From the noise we were makin'.
We emerged from the rubble,
OC was taken.
With the music came the message,
So we rock the verbs.
Still neutral as a nazi
So forget what you heard.
We never leave the cross behind,
We use it as our banner,
Scripture the vernacular,
Jesus in the grammar.
Throw your hands up,
Throw your hands up high!
Tear the roof off
and pull down the sky!
Chase the sun back to California,
Tears in my eyes.
Tell me where you’re from,
The mighty west side!
Let me continue
To lighten up the mood a little.
Never number one,
But never playin’ second fiddle.
My thoughts are like a circle,
With Jesus in the middle.
Rhyme for a reason,
I don’t rhyme to riddle
High emotions like I’m yellin’,
No need to be alarmed.
Supertones is what your smellin’.
If lovin' you’s a crime,
Then baby I’m a felon.
Where we go from here,
My people, there’s no tellin’...
Are you ready to go
When it’s time to get
Back on the road just to see you?
On this narrow path
We got no time to dally.
Follow my lead
And chase the sun back to Cali.

the promises you've made
Surely then
I will be judged
Tonight
Surely I'm a little scared
Tonight
Surely now the sheep
and goats are split upon the
Threshing floor tonight
Lord you are my only good,
I will hold to you
Should the fires of hell
sear and sing me
Lord, you are my protector
I will hold to
the fold of your robe
Should the Devil himself,
come to claim me

Health and Wealth
Poor men bound in persecution,
God’s their portion everyday.
But we don’t know anybody
Who lives that way.
There the church grows stronger,
Under politics and chains and whips.
They can’t explain how they
slipped right through their grip.
A purifying persecution
In the politics of Mao Tse-Tung.
I think they got it right,
So maybe we got it wrong.
Health and wealth,
we help ourselves,
And let them play the hand
That they’ve been dealt.
Health and wealth,
indulge ourselves,
A big fat belly
underneath our belts.
Health and wealth
we help ourselves,
And let them play the hand
That they’ve been dealt.
We’ll never understand
The Christ they’ve felt,
If we keep on chasing
Health and wealth
Here we sit so comfy, rich.
Us, my and you, the USA...
So far away from C-h-i-n-a.
We think they need freedom.
We’re the ones in prison.
We don’t have the time
To change the world.
It doesn’t take long
to figure it out,
Where all our money goes.
We’re the poorest billionaires
Jesus knows.
And we ask God to refine us,
And pray that we would be freed,
From all our comfortable gods,
Out straining and striving and
Chasing the wind.

Supertones Strike Back
Just like Leia's father
You hit, we hit back harder
Like Huss and Stephen,
I am not afraid to be a martyr
California sun and sky
Slip inside a suit and tie
Chevy rolls up to the house
with everybody outside
Gonna get down like
we did the day before
Fifty more people
be waitin' at the door
Team against team,
let's even the score
If there's fifty people outside
Then there's room
for fifty more
And we're movin' all smooth
and when we get groovin'
We're fresh like salsa
and we're fat like Juben
You're cranium's cracked
from my Shaolin attack
Protect your neck,
Supertones strike back
We this whole band
to be a big love letter
So we play the ska
and it makes you feel better
God's got love for us,
so we got love for you
It's your life,
so what you wanna do?
So come on put a glide
in your stride
and a dip in your hip
Best back the heck up,
cuz' hip-hop rolls from my lips
I spit when I rap,
saliva flies when I sing
God gives me gifts,
just look at my ring
Look less at me and
look more to Christ
Grace has saved me
and his grace will suffice
So I jump for Jesus,
it's Jesus who frees us
Let's get dumb like Beavis,
I don't care who sees us
When we hop to hip-hop
John Bell gets ill props
You know he can rock socks
Give out love from his soapbox
With hip-hop nonstop,
hippidie, hippde, hop
First I can rock them socks,
then I can knock your block
You can't stop this,
you can't clock this
You can't dis this,
please don't miss this
A van and a roadmap,
keep my life in my knapsack
Comin' through your town,
Supertones strike back

Grace Flood
Soul what's wrong?
Why are you troubled
here within me?
Deep inside my heart,
my soul,
what's wrong?
So my God I do not see
why you forgive me
Do you need me,
am I wise,
am I strong?
So why...
Why do you even love me?
Why do you even care?
Why should you think of me?
Oh my God,
I'll never know it's
Unconditional love,
the grace flood
Take me hand and lead me
further up within here
Deep inside your heart,
within your soul
On my knees as I crawl
steady up the incline
The glory of your face
and I can't stand

Resolution
I've meant to do this
for some time
I've gotta get it
right this time
This time my God
I will be yours
All my heart,
my soul and mind
Been so long since
I truly smiled
But you touched
my heart today
Reached through
my mind of mud and mire
Consumed the idols
in your way
So I am brand new today,
I make my resolution
Been down so long
that it seems like up,
I took it now I've had enough
If the life that
I've been living
It feels so cold
this far away
So today I will
make a change
I will make
a change today
Purge my mind
of mud and mire
Cast all gods away and
I am brand new today,
I make my resolution
Looking back the way I used to be
It was just me and God
Can I be there again?
Today I make my resolution

Perseverance of the Saints
Let me drown
in an ocean of devotion
Let my joy be in service
and love emotion
Let me be closer
than your right hand man
Tighter than your left hand
and let me be a godly man
Till the day I die,
till the fire's just smoke
I will go for broke
till my last word's spoke
If I limp then I will run with a limp
I'll win some and lose some,
but I'll make my attempt
Last breath before
the candle flickers out
I will speak the name of Jesus
I will keep fighting to the knockout,
even if I'm knocked out
Hitting hard,
I'm hittin' for the belt
My soul will keep going
till my body buckles
I will drop my bloody knuckles
Carry us to heaven
by the truckfulls
I will be as stubborn
as a pitbull
Neutral as a Nazi,
resolute like Ghandi
I will keep preaching
till I'm took out
Till I'm in heaven en route
No sell out

Like No One Else
This is a time for us
to demonstrate our appreciation
Amazing grace and sweet salvation
I can't pay you back,
my Lord, so I won't even try
I will give you I and I
You know when I'm standing up
and when I'm falling down
Amazing grace,
how sweet the sound
You know if I'm hungry,
tired,
or feeling kind of low
Why you care,
I just don't know
I cast all my life
and all my cares
And everything on you
He cares for you
like no one else
This is a time for us
to celebrate our emancipation
Voices ring across the nations
There will never be another
there has never been
Helpless and you took us in
Because of Jesus Christ,
we know salvation is secure
I don't worry anymore
Who can give you council, Lord?
And who can search your mind?
You are before me and behind
Every time I shed a tear it matters,
it matters
Every time I'm cold with fear,
when I got a broken Heart
When I think I'm all alone,
on the road or when at home
Every time I have to sneeze,
every single breath I
Breathe
When I'm in a dentist's chair,
anywhere and everywhere

Louder than the Mob
I know I'm just another Judas,
kiss your face
While I drive the nail
through your hand
I know I'm just another Thomas,
won't believe
Until I feel the hole in your hands
Then I will say, my God,
I see not what you see
My God, what do you see in me?
My God, crowned in agony
The lamb of God is worthy
My sin yells crucify,
louder than the mob that day
My sin yells crucify,
louder than any mouth

Shut Up and Play
Religious fanatic,
that's what they say
True, I may be on the brink
I hear them yell at us ,
shut up and play
Well, who asked what you think?
No time for mediocrity,
convenience or practicality
He went all out for us, say what you will
I'll answer to my God
I'm a freak,
they say I've lost my mind
But I know,
I've never seen so clearly
When I speak, they say
I've gone too far this time
Which lets me know
that I have not gone nearly
Bible thumpin' reactionist
And I'm proud to bear the name
Take our music,
take away our lives
Jesus still remains
I wonder what will people think
When they hear that
I'm a Jesus freak

Little Man
Keep both my eyes
transfixed on the prize
A high-rise under blue skies
my piece of the pie
There's a hole in my heart
that I know how to fill
That's to light my cigarettes
with a hundred dollar bill
It's all about cash
flow the California dream
To make the grade
you gotta make the green
My friend I'm the champion
I've got no time for losers
Never ask for nothing
cuz beggars can't be choosers
Lookin' out for number one's
a full time occupation
I'll give to me myself
and I my own salvation
Some people try to tell me
God can save me from my sin
God can take a number
and I'll pencil Him in
Busy o' so busy got
no time to search
My Sunday's are all booked
I got no time for church
That's for those poor
souls dry as a stone
God bless this child
cuz this child's got his own
Oh let my pride fall
down I'm a little man
He who gets the most toys
dies and is the winner
I'm livin' the high life
with lobster tail dinners
My Lexus
my cacht
my gold chains
and rings
There are a few
of my favorite things
But most of all
I keep my billfold
closest to my heart
House decorated
with million dollar
works of art
Roll with bigwigs
they think I'm the man
But then I stop and look
and think about
how big I really am
Mammon is an unforgiving God
so I cast him away
I live my life to God,
not to get paid
Money can never save soul
and I don't think I can
I look to God and
I feel the little man

So Great A Salvation
Woke up this morning
Just had to thank
God for my life
Just read through
James' book
Start to pray and
ask God for a wife
It's a time of devotion
As I sit and speak
to my God unseen
Why does he listen?
Well I love him
and He's in love with me
Why me God why
should you choose me?
On your team God
can you use even me?
I think a few years back
On a road that headed nowhere
Now that you found me
I can see who
you were always there
So great a salvation
But to you my Jesus
what am I worth?
It's quiet times like this
I feel I get a glimpse of
Heaven here on earth
Hold me in your arms of love
Sometimes I swear
I feel your heartbeat
I could never ever
thank you enough
But here's my life
for what ever that's worth

Fade Away
Seems like I spent
the past three year,
Just struggling
with these ideas.
And the more I learn,
The less I really know.
But to the things I do,
I will hold tight.
Because I didn’t win them
Without a fight.
It’s all I have and
I’m not letting go.
I’ve never been less
perfect than today.
Is my heart or is my mind
What’s in the way?
I’m listening with
nothing left to say.
Savior make this
dimness fade away.
Confusion come so easily.
Like cancer,
it kills gradually.
You can’t recall
When the light began to fade.
But I’ll grab truth
with both my hands,
Hold it close til’
I understand,
Face the light and
will not be afraid.
I’m so much stronger
Than I was just yesterday.
I can see clearly now.
Lord, make this dimness fade away

Hanani
Change me into what you want to,
Hardened as this clay might be.
You’re the potter, I’m the vessel.
Make me what you want of me.
Please forgive my obstination,
So seldom on my knees.
And I will keep it to a whimper,
As the great physician works in me.
Hanani, here am I.
Father, make me like the Savior.
All my hope is found in Him.
Help me just reach resignation.
Hanani Lord, work in me.
Please forgive my obstination,
So seldom on my knees.
And I will keep it to a whimper,
As the great physician works in me.
